Custom Tool & Die Design and Manufacturing

At Gerhart Stamping, Inc we specialize in the custom detailed design and manufacturing of high speed progressive dies. Our Engineering team provides complete design services from concept through production. We assist in customer part development to produce tooling to your exact standards and tolerances. The Design stage is a critical phase in your metal stamping process. The proper design is essential for not only manufacturing your part, but also maintaining the die economically for the duration of your project. We utilize 3D CAD tooling designs while still being able to work with companies that prefer 2Dformats. All Gerhart Stamping Dies are created in carbide and steel by employing our advanced grinding techniques and Wire EDM services. This unique combination beginning from initial tooling concept, through final assembly, transforms into a precision die capable of very high-run production quantities from eithera single or multi-out progressive tool. High Speed Precision Metal Stamping

Gerhart Stamping’s high speed stamping department has a tonnage range from 22 to 60 tons utilizing state of the art Bruderer presses. We stamp copper based, ferrous, exotic and high performance metals at thicknesses between .001” to .060” thick with speeds ranging from 100 to 1500 SPM. Featuring Cognex advanced vision systems, our stamping department establishes 100% continuous inspection of critical dimensions and where tight tolerances are required. We offer Statistical Process Control (SPC) for customers as well.Due to the growing need for shorter lead times and JIT shipments, we compliment our EDM department with a modern grinding facility.This assures that our tooling or customer supplied tooling, is always maintained and ready to run. With both reel-to reel and loose parts capability along with pre or post plating options, we are sure to be the right choice for your stamping needs. Wire E.D.M.

Gerhart Stamping, Inc. recognizes the growing need for shorter lead times. With our in-house advanced Wire E.D.M. services featuring Charmilles Technology and 3R tooling, we are able to support our Engineering and Stamping department’s needs, whether it is assisting engineering in developing new concepts, or keeping our Stamping department running smoothly by providing new tooling on demand. Along with our technical CNC operators, our climate controlled EDM department is capable of running 24 hours a day. We have the capability to cut with 0.003”, 0.004”, 0.006”, 0.008”, 0.010”, & 0.012” diameter wire to meet internal radii specs. We are able to reach a surface finishes of 4 RMS and a surface integrity of .0001 recast. Our high accuracy measuring system using the 0.1 micron (0.0000039”) encoders resolution and 0.5 micron (0.000019”) glass scales on all axes guarantees the highest degree of accuracy. Plating Services

To provide our customers with the lowest cost solutions, Gerhart Stamping, Inc. has strategically partnered with Spectrum Plating to offer “Turn Key” products. Our customers benefit from this service by eliminating secondary processes. Customers can choose from a multitude of Electrodeposition technologies including selective brush, selective stripe, controlled depth and overall plating. We provide continuous Reel-to-Reel or loose piece electroplating services for a variety of precious and non-precious metals including: Gold, Copper, Nickel, Silver, Tin and Tin-lead. We also provide rack and barrel plating services along with Electroless Nickel. We are RoHS compliant offering lead-free plating alternatives utilizing lead-free whisker mitigating tin chemistries combined with state of the art in-line reflow technologies.
